Switzerland

On January 28th 2021,  Dr James Zhan, Senior Director, Enterprise and Investment, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) ,opened our final day of sessions supporting the Business Beyond Covid-19 process.

The purpose of the UN convened sessions, meeting virtually in the UN’s European Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, was to take stock of the eight months of forum debate and exploration. Senior participants from multiple sectors and countries joined sessions for which 600+ people registered with the UN. The early consultation draft of the Waterberg Declaration was finalised after these four hours of UN sponsored discussions.

UNCTAD kindly agreed to host the concluding events as part of their World Investment Forum online satellite programme convening ahead of the 2020 UNCTAD WIF which will gather virtually in Abu Dhabi, UAE, in October.

Presentation of The Waterberg Declaration

The finalised Waterberg Declaration will be presented as a set of private sector recommendations to the Abu Dhabi event by Judge Professor Mervyn King, Professor Paul Q. Watchman, and TBCG Founder and CEO Paul Clements-Hunt. The three long-term collaborators kindly anchored the overall process during 2020-21.
